Plain Language Error Messages...Or Not!
We found the following (and other!) error messages during functional testing of a client/server program that sliced and diced (er, analyzed) employment, compensation and benefits information. Our recommendation to the client was that these types of errors be trapped with appropriate error/exception handlers and "plain language" error messages be presented to users in non-developer-speak.
